Your privacy is important to us.  FrankingGrid LLC (“FrankingGrid”), headquartered in the United States, is an online advertising and technology company, and we are sensitive to concerns about our use of personal information.  We also believe in, and support, harnessing the power of technology and the Internet to aid communications, relationships, and political discourse.

This privacy policy (“Policy”) outlines our privacy practices on our corporate Website (“Website”), www.frankinggrid.com.  By using our Website and providing information to us, you agree to the terms of use described in this Policy.

We also like to take this opportunity to inform you about our privacy practices regarding how our technology (“Technology”) processes information in connection with providing services to the elected officials who are our customers (our “Clients”).

WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY
FrankingGrid’s Website is designed to help us communicate with our current and possible Clients (and such individuals and entities as may be assisting them in exercising franking privileges).  To do so, we ask such persons to provide basic information (such as name, address, telephone number, and email address).  We use this information for marketing and relationship purposes with our Clients and possible clients.  We also may gather information about your use of our site via cookies or web beacons.  The function and use of these devices is described below.

We reserve the right to use any Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) you voluntarily provide to us for marketing and customer purposes, including sharing such information with third parties.  However, if you'd like us to update, correct, delete, or deactivate any PII that you have provided to us on the Website, please send your request to us at info@frankinggrid.com, and we will process your request within a reasonable period of time after receipt.

FrankingGrid takes reasonable technical, administrative, and physical precautions to prevent the loss or misuse of your PII you provide via our Website.

Our Website also contains links to other websites.  We have no control over the content, policies, or actions of these sites.  We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

 
GENERAL PRIVACY PRACTICES
FrankingGrid runs a platform that allows our Clients to buy ad space on websites for online advertising.  We work with other entities engaged in Internet advertising – advertisers, publishers (“Publishers”), ad networks (“Networks”), or ad agencies.  We help our Clients focus their advertising upon online users for whom we believe that the advertising is especially useful or relevant.  To do so, we rely upon Non-Personally Identifiable Information (“Non-PII”) we have collected from public sources and/or purchased from third parties.  However, while our advertising services are targeted, our system is set up to create anonymous user profiles and we do not track individuals using PII.

          
TYPES OF INFORMATION OUR TECHNOLOGY COLLECTS
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
We collect Non-PII via our Technology, including but not limited to your IP host address, the date and time of browsing, pages viewed, browser type, the referring URL, Internet Service Provider, and/or your computer's operating system.

Personally Identifiable Information
We do not collect PII via our Technology.

Cookies and Web Beacons
Our Technology uses cookies in conjunction with web beacons in order to help make the online advertisements users see more relevant to them.  We also use cookies and web beacons to understand user browsing and buying activities so that we can measure the success of our online advertising campaigns, and the campaigns of our Clients.

What are cookies and web beacons?
Cookies are small text files that web servers typically send to a user’s computer when the user visits a website.  Cookies are stored as text files on the user’s hard drive, and can be accessed by web servers when the user returns to a website or goes to another website. 

Web beacons are tags or signs embedded in a website that provide information to cookies.  These technologies are used by organizations to collect and send information about a user’s website visit – for example, number of visits, average time spent, pages viewed, navigation history through the website, and other statistics.

This information helps organizations improve a user’s online experience in many ways:  for example, by allowing organizations to monitor website performance, make the website easier to use, measure the effectiveness of promotional placements, and tailor the website to better match a user’s interests and preferences.  Cookies cannot be used to access any other data on a user’s hard drive, or to personally identify any individual user.  A user who prefers not to accept cookies can set his or her Internet browser to provide notice upon receipt of a cookie or to prevent cookies from being placed on his or her hard drive.     

HOW OUR INFORMATION IS SECURED AND PROTECTED
The security of your information is important to us.  We have implemented reasonable security measures to protect the information in our care, both during transmission and once we receive it.  This includes, but is not limited to the use of firewalls and encryption. 

All of the user data used by our Technology is stored only in aggregate form, meaning that information about a specific, individual user cannot be retrieved.  Even so, we maintain physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect all our data from accidental, unauthorized or unlawful access, use, modification, disclosure, loss or destruction.  The data is kept on a secure server and we restrict access to the data solely to authorized users.

No security measures, however thorough, are perfect.  No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100 percent secure, however.  Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security, or warrant the security of the information we possess.  If you have any questions about our security practices, please send an email to us at info@frankinggrid.com.

INFORMATION SHARING
As described above, FrankingGrid stores only aggregated data.  We may share such aggregate, Non-PII with Publishers and Networks in connection with operational purposes (such as reporting and accounting needs), as well as with other unaffiliated third parties for various purposes such as statistical or educational analysis.

We may also disclose your information to third parties when we reasonably believe we are obligated to do so by law, and in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual prohibited activities, including but not limited to fraud and situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.

Also, in the event FrankingGrid is merged into another company, or another company acquires all or substantially all of FrankingGrid’s assets, including, without limitation, in the event of bankruptcy, all data compiled or owned by FrankingGrid may be among the items transferred in that transaction.  In such event, all the data will continue to be governed by this Policy.

CONTROLLING THE USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
Opt-out from our cookies
We currently do not drop a FrankingGrid cookie on your computer, but we do allow third parties to place cookies for advertising purposes.  This Online Privacy Statement does not cover the collection methods or use of the information collected by these vendors. These vendors have their own privacy policies and may be members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI").  To remove yourself from some or all NAI member advertising programs, please visit the NAI Opt-Out Page and follow the relevant instructions.  Please note that if you delete, block, or otherwise restrict cookies, or if you use a different computer or Internet browser, you may need to renew your opt-out choice.

CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE
The services of FrankingGrid are not intended for persons under 13 years of age.  FrankingGrid’s Website or products and services are not developed or directed at children.  We do not knowingly solicit or collect any personally identifiable information including not from children under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly market our products or services to children under the age of 13.

CHANGES TO OUR POLICY OR PRIVACY PRACTICES
We may revise this Policy or our privacy practices at any time.  Any changes and/or updates to our Policy will be posted directly on this page.  We encourage you to visit this page periodically to review our current Policy so that you will always know what information we gather and how we may use (including share) that information.  In the event we make any material changes to this Policy we will advise our Publishers and Networks of such changes in advance.
